I really like the way the artist used the same pink checkered material in this little cherub's outfit and again in the card's border.

This joyous little cowboy looks so happy about the egg he's discovered.
And don't you just love his hat with the flower?
(I wonder about that tiny little hen though ...
If she was the one who layed that great big egg, it really must have hurt!)

I absolutely love this little imp's red hat with flowers. She is so happy to be able to play the happy birthday song for you!

I love the way this little fireman's puppy is snuggling against his neck, and he dropped his little water bucket to play.

This little gal is so precious! I love the way the artist showed so much detail - right down to the ruffles on her derriere, and the kittens in the background!

As I was going through a box of "stuff" from who-knows-when, I came upon an original box of cards (no envelopes). The box is labeled "Guys and Gals - All Occasion Assortment" and was originally a box of ten cards. Only one was missing! These cards are huge, approximately 8 x 10 inches! I will try to post one a day so you too can enjoy the amazing beauty and artistry of these wonderful cards.

Valentine from Mildred

Sweet sentiment from Mildred to Ivor. There was no envelope for this one, so I am uncertain of the date. But I am not uncertain of the love they had.

I like the way the card folds out, then nestles sweetly back together.

Mildred's Birthday 1944

Ivor and Mildred were married in the late 1930's or early 1940's. During WWII, then through later years when Ivor's job as an engineer took him to various locations, he and Mildred wrote letters and sent cards to each other, and to their many friends and relatives. They saved these letters for many years, and through devious means (i.e. dumpster diving!) they made their way to me. Thank you Leigh ... for giving me permission ... after I told you ... much later!

I can only piece together Ivor and Mildred's story from what I read in these cards and letters, but I know they had a great love and an even greater commitment to that love.

Little Lamb

A beautiful Christmas card I rescued from a to-be-shredded bin at a Goodwill Surplus Store.

It was just too beautiful to let it be discarded.
