1915 Postcard - PFF

I found this old (1915) postcard in Grammie's papers ...
And fell in love with the sweetness of the picture.
I can tell this precious little girl is waiting for a very important phone call ... and check out that old phone!

The best part ... Mr. Lester Nickerson was my grandfather!
He went to heaven 31 years ago, and we still miss him.

I don't know who Nell was, or where she lived (although the card is postmarked San Francisco USA). I have no idea how she knew Grampa.
Could she have been an old flame?

After all, Grampa would have been in his late teens or 20 in 1915, and had yet to meet and marry Grandma!

Ah the mysteries of life - even life so close to home.

  1. I just love that card! It's wonderful. I've been known to will a phone to ring before now. :)

  2. This card makes me smile! I can remember sitting by the phone ... but not one quite that old ... although I do remember party lines!!! Happy PFF!

  3. Oh, my goodness! I wonder who Nell was, too.'s interesting to think of Grandpa as he might have been as a young man. Wow...I wonder who Nell was... (grin) Hmmmmm.....

  4. How interesting to find a mystery so close to home, as you say.

  5. One word... 'lovely'.

    Happy weekend! :)
