1944 Graduation, Naval Academy

Ivor graduated from the Naval Academy in 1944 ... there was much correspondence between Ivor and Mildred during this time. It must have been hard for them to be separated.

Ivor and Mildred were married in the late 1930's or early 1940's. During WWII, then through later years when Ivor's job as an engineer took him to various locations, he and Mildred wrote letters and sent cards to each other, and to their many friends and relatives. They saved these letters for many years, and through devious means (i.e. dumpster diving!) they made their way to me. Thank you Leigh ... for giving me permission ... after I told you ... much later!

I can only piece together Ivor and Mildred's story from what I read in these cards and letters, but I know they had a great love and an even greater commitment to that love.
