1928 Birthday Card

This tiny little card (appr. 2x3") is so joyful. These brilliant little birds look so at home with their cute little red house in the background ...

This quaint little card was tucked away amongst some photos I found in the garbage at my storage unit. Which I promptly tucked away in my car and brought home.

1954 Seasons Greetings

A beautiful palet of winter.

From Charles and Margaret

To Ivor and Mildred.
Note how the postmark year is upside down!

1956 Sympathy Card

I think what I really like about this is the envelope. Remember when you could put instructions to the mailman on the outside of the envelope, and a real person would read them ... and the letters would get to their destination come heck or high water?

Happy PFF Friday - Ivor's Christmas 1919

I found this 1919 postcard amidst the Christmas cards and correspondence that I dumpster-dived at my sister's "house cleaning" party. Thank you lil' sissie!

Gold Embossed Christmas

This delicate, gold embossed card has a bit of real silk ribbon attached to the side.

And the inside is just as lovely.

Graduation Gift for Mildred

This tiny card (real size is appr. 2X3") is made of very heavy cardboard. It was in a small box with Mildred's other tiny cards, most from her graduation and wedding. The delicate springtime flowers are tinted with surprisingly vibrant pastels.

1944 Graduation, Naval Academy

Ivor graduated from the Naval Academy in 1944 ... there was much correspondence between Ivor and Mildred during this time. It must have been hard for them to be separated.
