But this one represents the North Shore Animal League. I did some research, and found the following history ...
For the past 65 plus years, the North Shore Animal League America has been the largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization in the world, housing an average of 300 animals at any given time. As of the end of 2008, the Animal League had found homes for nearly one million dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. However, this exciting achievement did not happen overnight. The road was long and the efforts great. Many dedicated individuals shared their passion and perseverance in making North Shore Animal League America what it is today. I actually brought one of our cats, Lucky, in to these folks. They were so kind. We called back to see how Lucky was doing--they'd adopted him out already. It was a lovely place to bring animals.
ReplyDeleteThey told me they had some pets who'd been there for years--who had become like family. They don't believe in killing the animals...that's why we brought Lucky to them.
What a wonderful and caring organization!
ReplyDeleteWe adopted our kittens there. they are getting to be old man-kitties now. 19 years old but they can still jump on the bed! North Shore is a great place. When you adopt they neuter for free.
