Willamette River, Oregon

This aerial view of the Willamette River in Oregon is how we usually see this river. It's hard to imagine what Beth and her family are seeing as this usually peaceful river steps over its banks and invades towns along it's path.

As Beth mentioned in her PFF post, her town of Independence is in danger of being flooded over by the rising waters of the Willamette River.

My thoughts and prayers are with people all over my home state, and indeed all over the world, who are dealing with disasters and the aftermath of disasters.

I almost feel guilty being safe, warm and happy here where I live!!!

  2. Hey, Sissy! Yes, the view from where we are is quite frightening--though I don't think we will be flooded ourselves, there are others who, if not already, may yet still face the flood waters.

Our hearts and hands go out to those who have lost so much. Especially the family who lost a Mom and 20 month son in the floods. Heart breaking. Truly heart breaking.

  3. All of us live with water all around us on this earth but we forget its power and how dangerous it can be.
