Who's the Tourist?

I've had this postcard for quite a while - I'm not even sure where I got it!
All I know is ...
I love it!

So ... Who's the Tourist???

Love's Greetings

I found this card in Grammie's papers ...
It is made of cardboard, and the back is blank ...
It is obviously old ...
And full of love!

Wearin o' the Green!

I found this reproduction postcard in Grammie's papers ...
It is the only St. Patrick's Day postcard in my collection!

The best part is ... this card was given to Grammie by my sister Beth!

And speaking of Beth ... she hosts "Postcard Friendship Friday" - where we love to share beautiful and interesting postcards from around the world!

Painted Hills, Oregon postcard

The deserts of central Oregon are beautiful - like the "Painted Hills" in the John Day area.

Grammie always wanted to travel, but was unable to do much of it.
Instead, her friends and family sent pictures and cards from wherever they went.
She was able to travel with them that way!

Sweet Card ... Found at Thrift Store

I thought this was a sweet little card ... even though the perspective boggles my eyes a bit.
Is it just me, or is her face a little small?
Oh well, I still think she's beautiful!

But what really pulled me in was the beautiful yet curious message that was inside!

1915 Postcard - PFF

I found this old (1915) postcard in Grammie's papers ...
And fell in love with the sweetness of the picture.
I can tell this precious little girl is waiting for a very important phone call ... and check out that old phone!

The best part ... Mr. Lester Nickerson was my grandfather!
He went to heaven 31 years ago, and we still miss him.

I don't know who Nell was, or where she lived (although the card is postmarked San Francisco USA). I have no idea how she knew Grampa.
Could she have been an old flame?

After all, Grampa would have been in his late teens or 20 in 1915, and had yet to meet and marry Grandma!

Ah the mysteries of life - even life so close to home.

Love Stamp Postcard

I recently uncovered a bag of postcards ... and finally got around to scanning them.
Amongst the treasures I found were several USPS sponsored "stamp" cards. One of my favorites is this 2002 "Love" stamp.
