Postcard - Reflections of the City of Roses ...

I love postcards from places I recognize ... I am thrilled when I can look and say "I've been there!"

I don't know if I've been to this exact place in Portland, but it had to have been close by!

"Reflection of the City of Roses"

I thought this would be perfect for James' "Weekend Reflections" ...
And for Beth's "Postcard Friendship Friday" ...

Postcard from Portland - Postcard Friendship Friday and Weekend Mailbox

Postcard Friendship Friday is hosted by Beth over at The Best Hearts are Crunchy.

Weekend Mailbox is hosted by Gemma over at Greyscale Territory.

These are two fun memes that somehow belong together!

This weekend is Portland's party weekend.
The Rose Festival!

I didn't make it this year, but watched the parade on TV. Does that count?

Happy PFF Friday - Mt. St. Helens and Portland, Oregon

This card of "home" has traveled all over the world with me. It shows Mount St. Helens in the background, and the Fremont Bridge and Portland (Oregon) in the foreground. It appears to have been taken at the Rose Test Gardens up in the West Hills.

Since the Fremont Bridge was opened in 1973 and Mt. St. Helen's catastrophic eruption that blew the top off the mountain happened in 1980, this picture was taken sometime between those two dates.

I do know that I kept this postcard with me for many years and many miles. Now I get to actually "send" it!

The Francis Motor Car Company was founded in 1913 by C.E. Francis. The name of the company was later changed to Francis Ford Company. I'm not sure when this Christmas card/flyer was sent out. Ivor and Mildred were married in 1932, so it had to be after that ...

I love the old doll and car. Any ideas as to their vintage?

Too bad there is no date on the cancellation stamp ...
