Do they still send out delightful postcards when it's time for your car to be serviced?
They did in May of 1969!
Ivor always drove Fords, always bought them from Lynn Kirby Ford on Union Avenue (now MLK) in Portland, Oregon ... and always had them served at the same dealership.
I also have a postcard from June of 1969 that says (of course) -- "Thank you for thinking of us when your car needed service."
Hmmmm I wonder what made him think of using them???

I have a similar card with an antique car and an ad on the back. I bet not many of these cards were saved.
ReplyDeleteI think I get a plain white card sent to me as a service reminder. I do get some funny cartoon postcards from my dentist though : )
ReplyDeleteGreat card. I never get a card like this..hehehe..I do still get cards from my vet though.

I'd far rather have a lovely card like that! We just got a text message the other day, so boring in comparison.
ReplyDeleteI get letters with coupons! I like that old car in the picture. My Granny used to tell me stories about her little Model T roadster her Papa bought her when she was a girl in the 1920's.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous old card, Clytie! How nice it was for them to send out such a collectible! :)
ReplyDeleteHahaa...that is so funny, Sissy! I love how we can laugh about things. This postcard is priceless--like you, I wonder what the real story was!
ReplyDeleteHowdy
ReplyDeleteHappy PFF to you .
Thanks for posting a card to bring a smile to my face today.
I miss a lot of the many reasons they use to have to send really cool cards through the mail.
All our reminders are via e-mail ,just not the same.
Take care and many blessings to you and yours.
Happy trails
Cool card. I do get mail from my car dealership, but it is full of letters, coupons, announcements - TRASH - that are more trouble to deal with than they're worth. This is one thing postcards are really still perfect for! Happy PFF!
ReplyDeleteNeat card.
ReplyDeleteNo, they don't send anything like that anymore. These days it's just a plain white card. B-o-r-i-n-g. lol
Thanks for the visit to my blog (I see that you're a fellow Oregonian). :-)
Hey, it's me again! I saw on your profile that you like Gnomes (I'm really getting off topic on this!) but I have a question to ask you. Could you email me again (and send me your email address)? Thanks...
ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous vintage car postie!
ReplyDeleteI am real late getting out and about to everyone's blog this week. I've been out of town and have had little time to play.
ReplyDeleteI sure do like that postcard.
How fun.....and so thoughtful of the dealership too. ;-)
Hope your weekend has been beautiful
Beautiful. Vintage is always.
