1976 Postcard, Maine, USA

I found this card at the Goodwill Outlet store quite a few years ago - it was part of a collection of cards someone had given away.

I chose this card today because it is the only card I have from the US East Coast ... and my heart and prayers are with the millions of people of the this area who are preparing for, and dealing with, the wrath of Hurricane Irene. Even as I was preparing this post, I heard on the news that the eye has made landfall in North Carolina.

My thoughts and prayers also are going out to those from around the world who are facing natural disasters, and those who are recovering from natural disasters.
These are strange times indeed.

  1. A wonderful tribute, Sissy. This is a great find. I'm so glad you saved it. My thoughts and prayers also go out to all those caught in the wake of Irene.

Though it has become a category 1 hurricane--there are still 85 mph winds and a huge storm surge on its way. We pray for everyone's safety.

We do indeed live in strange times. I keep wondering what's in store for us here in the mid-Willamette Valley. We haven't seen a good storm in ages.

Thanks for sharing, and Happy PFF!
