1939 Postcard, Sitka, Alaska - Happy PFF!

I wonder what this same shot would look like today ...
It sure was pristine back in 1939!

Mailed on the 4th of July, 1939 from Juneau, Alaska

  2. I wonder, too. I love that Sitka is the 4th most populous city in Alaska with a population of just under 9,000. I had to look twice at that number to make sure it wasn't 90,000!

  6. Alaska in 1939, another world, no doubt. Lovely card, esp. like the fountain-pen script on the back.

  10. As it says on the card, the mountain does look so much like Mount Fujiyama in Japan! I can't quite read the writing - "ready to sail and no stops between here and ..."... somewhere!

Sorry to be so late with my post and my comments this week. Life got in the way. :)
